CAMP JOY
Camp Joy is a 5-week summer program that has been in existence since 1994. The program is in session, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. This camp has unlimited enrollment for participants between the ages of 5 and 12 years. All activities are age appropriate with teachers certified and experienced in teaching. Activities include arts and crafts, theatre, cooking classes and STEM. Each week, field trips are planned for bowling, swimming, the Franklin Institute, Adventure Aquarium, Upper Darby Performing Arts Theatre, Mann Music Center, Academy of Natural Sciences, Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory and the end of summer closing trip to a water park.
To decrease the “summer learning loss” we stress academics such as English, writing, mathematics, reading and language arts. Our program has been developed to be both engaging and educational to allow youth to bridge from one grade to the next. We offer the opportunity for youth to experience play time, enrichment and the chance to sample local cultural opportunities, in a safe and nurturing environment. Our camp allows each child to experience learning new skills and lessons; building self-confidence; trust; respect; real world applications; teamwork; leadership; resilience and gratitude.

TOY DRIVE
Many children lack traditional or nuturing family structures to turn to during the holidays. Many
parents or family members cannot afford to provide gifts for their children or have the resources to
celebrate the holidays. NNCDC holds an annual toy drive in cooperation with the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to provide gifts to underprivileged children and
children whose parents are incarcerated. A wide range of gifts are collected by SEPTA employees and
a SEPTA bus delivers these toys and gifts to N2N for distribution. Volunteers gather at N2N to wrap,
tag, assemble and organize gifts for distribution.
